would like whether summer or winter event to be automatically exposed in sim title so when undertaking RPA analysis for both summer and winter events this is exposed automatically rarther than having to rename sims prior to running RPA

  3. Urban (or modified) ReFH rainfall inputs

ICM currently supports the use of ReFH And ReFH2 parameters. However, it does not support the Urban (or modified) ReFH rainfall that is more commonly used in urban environments. Please could ICM introduce the ability to use Urban ReFH parameters in their system.

  4. I want to be able to open a layer list using Exchange (Ruby)

As part of a ruby script, I would like to add a specific layer list to a network to enable a Spatial SQL to be run. This script needs to be run on all our networks as part of a regular update. We have 1100 models which would require an extensive manual activity.

There is an existing method "WSOpenNetwork.openmolayer_list" but this i sonly available internally to Innovyze. Could you please make it available to all?

  5. Consistent SHP Export Data Fields for 2D mesh elements in ICM

A simulation result can be exported to SHP files by right clicking the icon and choosing the Export menu. When the result is exported for a specific timestamp, some underlying data fields are not exported such as the elevation and area of a 2D element. When we need such data fields, the maximum state should be exported.
We wanted to investigate the ground levels of 2D meshes in my model, and were a bit confused to find the data was not included, as the export was done for the peak of a rainfall. Contacting the support team, we learned that…

  6. Calculation of Pump Power in ICM

A pump curve and energy/efficiency curve can be input into the software however there is no way to output the energy used by the pump. South Gippsland Water were keen on understanding whether ICM could do this to report their energy efficiency baseline. This can be done in InfoWorks WSPro.

  7. Convergence Errors be resolved automatically while the model is simulated

Sometime a TSR running for few weeks throws up convergence hence these sims need to be rerun with shorter timestep which is both inefficient and a lot of time is wasted. It would be good if somehow the simulations dialog allowed to run the model with Max and Min timestep so that when it encounters convergence there after the model runs with shorter timestep. (I understand the model does timestep halving but even then it fails to converge)

    Hello,

Thank you for this, there is already a mechanism available for achieving something very similar to this. If you have a network and then go to the simulation parameters for this network via Model > Model parameters > Simulation parameters then within these there is an entry for “Max number of timestep halvings”. Depending on the timestep in the run dialog and the entry in the simulation parameters here you will be able to determine the minimum computational timestep that the engine goes to before failing a simulation.

    Hope this helps.

  8. Can the simulation log file be broken up into sections

Can the simulation log file be broken up into sections, as models get bigger and many with several 2d zone trying to find what is actual causing a simulations failure is becoming a bit more difficult having to scroll through big log files for that one line of information. Im thinking a summary sheet on why sim failed, along with a 1d, 2d possible river as well. Would help you look for issues.

  9. Option to pan through 2 or multiple geoplans at the same time

Sometimes (in ICM and IAM) in comparing 2 (or more) networks visually the networks are most of the time tiled horizontally of vertically. But when panning through one network, it would be very convenient that the other network(s) is/are also moving.
Suggestion: An option to visually connect different networks. One is the main and the other networks will be the connected and they will all get the same size. The connected networks will get the zoom factor and the extents of the main network. While panning through one of the networks (preferably the main network) the others will follow.

  10. Report InfoSWMM available capacity against theoretical flow for specified d/D

InfoSWMM provides Pipe/Conduit summary report with values for Max flow divided by "Full Flow". Here the "full flow" is based on Manning's equation for when the pipe is full. However as a sewer utility, we're not allowed to fill pipes. We must keep pipes below 80% full as a constant benchmark.
We'd prefer all our reports are compared against 0.8d/D instead of Full Flow.

  11. Use of cfg for mapping in Polygon Generation via Intersection or have a Ruby do it

In doing (and often multiple redoing) the Polygon Generation via Intersection, it would be very useful to have the opportunity to save the mapping (which GIS or Network Field in which Polygon field) in a cfg file, like the ODEC feature has the opportunity to save the mapping.
As an alternative it would also be very useful to be able to run a Ruby which activates the Polygon Generation via Intersection and even the Area Take Off features.

  12. Set database management permissions

(Workgroup) database permissions are now mainly used to prevent users from modifying content within the database, but there is currently no way to prevent them from updating databases, creating new ones unlimitedly on servers with otherwise protected access etc. It would therefore be useful to have an additional security level which deals with database management permissions.

    Thank you for this request.

There are already settings available for database creation permissions which can be implemented using the snumbat.ini file.

Specifically there is a keyword “AllowDatabaseCreation” where a setting of 0 means creation is disallowed and a settings of 1 means creation is allowed. The Workgroup Data Server Administration document which can be requested from Innovyze talks through these steps and provides examples for the snumbat.ini files.

When it comes to the updating of databases, is this to restrict the ability to update from a particular software version database to a later one or rather to prevent update to the contents of the database please?

    Thanks,
    Pascal

  13. In ICM add AutoCAD layers to usertext1 on import

When importing from autocad layer mapping can be used to create a model layout for things like 2D Mesh zones but all created objects are null. I have written an SQL to apply parameters to all null mesh zones and roughness zones and import each layer individually. If the autocad layer was written to usertext1 I could import all at once with a saved layer mapping and then enter all parameters by selecting usertext1

  14. Inserting channels into topography

Being able to insert channels into terrain rather than editing in 12D or other software would be more practical for smaller firms to turn around modelling ideas.

Landscape packages allow terrain meshes to be manipulated with tools that sink into mesh easily. Channels and swales need slope, not simply vertical depression to model correctly. XPStorm allows 1D modelling but this isn't useful for presentations and Civil 3d and 12d are catching up quickly now that rational method is being phased out.

  15. I would like the option to model pump station that operate using VFDs.

I would like to be able to enter the full and reduced speed pump curves for each pump station that is controlled by variable frequency drives. In addition, I would need the set point or control that causes the pumps to ramp up to full speed.

  16. Optional channel to river reachs option

The way ICM identifies the centre-line of the river reach is by using the point with the lowest invert level. Regardless of the shape of the channels of how much is the value of the X coordinate, didn't affect the appearance of the section to generate, I hope to be able to add a function, can recognize the center line of the river, and the X coordinate is used to define a mapping point distance from the centerline of the channel of the (negative value on behalf of the center line on the left side of the river, when the…

  17. Auto-space custom labels

We use custom labels a lot in reporting how we model ancillaries, and for complex assets spend a long time adjusting labels so they don't overlap and do show up properly.
It would be great if a more "smart" label engine could be used so that labels don't overlap each other, and a few simple other rules e.g. as close to the object as possible, avoid line crossing, and automatically show any newly generated label within the current view extent.

  19. Create selection list from level or inflow events

In some of our older or larger models the number of profiles in level or inflow events have grown to > 100. Through the time quite a number of these have become obsolete because of consecutive model updates (resulting in many log warnings), but it is a very painstaking task to check them all one by one. Therefore it would be a big help if there were a possibility to create a selection list from these events that contains all the profile IDs (and vice versa to create a new event with profiles based on an existing selection list).
