GIM and infiltration zones
When rainfall is applied to the 2D mesh with infiltration zones, it would be advantageous to have a GIM module that works with the infiltration zones, their infiltration model (i.e. Horton) and the sewer system to represent rainfall induce infiltration more effectively.
13 votesHello,
There is already capability to take an infiltration zone in InfoWorks ICM and to route this to the 1D network directly as a contribution. This can be done by using a permeable zone object in conjunction with the infiltration zone (2D) object.
Thanks.

Route subcatchment outflow directly to a point on the 2D mesh
At times I want to route subcatchment flow to a certain point on the 2D mesh. This could be for directing building runoff to the street/curb or simply making sure the runoff gets to the inlet structure without forcing it into the underground network ignoring inlet capacity.
It would be ideal to simply route subcatchment flow to 2D outfalls or 2D inflow points.6 votesThis feature was recently delivered in InfoWorks ICM version 11.0.2.

Extend cross section lines
When there is a cross section line present, it would be good if these could automatically be extended by a given distance to the left/right to ensure sufficient coverage, especially when sampling from a ground model.

Individual vertex point visibility in GeoPlan
When an individual point is selected in river section data, this is not dynamically shown on the GeoPlan like a cross section might be. It would be good if vertex points were also visible.

Bulk river reach build process
If the river reach build all is reinstated, it would be great if it could be conducted on a selection of river reaches rather than on a case by case basis.

support (geo)tiff format as ground model format
geo tiff is a more efficient format using less disk space, widely accepted.
5 votesWe are pleased to announce that this functionality has now been completed and is available with 2021.2 of InfoWorks ICM.

Floating licence manager improvements
Updating the floating licence manager (which has to happen occasionally) is very difficult to organise because all licences (clients, engines, …) need to be checked in prior to the update to avoid corruption of the system. In a large company with many users (if not the majority of them) working remotely, this is almost impossible to achieve. So either there should be more flexibility in the update system, or there should be a functionality for a system administrator to force check-in licences if users don't react at the request.
4 votesWith updating licensing coming in 2021, the need to “update” licenses becomes a purely back office issue that removes the need to manually update the license manager.
We’ve avoided this issue by removing the need to force upgrade the licenses. This improvement will retire the floating license manager process by the 2nd half of the 2021 year.
Expect to hear more soon…

Initialize reservoir levels from measured data in ICM / ICMLive
Currently I can force my live simulations to initialize with measured level using dummy outfalls and sluice gates that close after the simulation starts with RTC, but that's very cumbersome to maintain.
11 votesGoing to set this to completed as the new SQL functionality achieves the desired end result and removes the need for dummy outfalls.

Infer ground levels only for non existent entries
At the moment it is possible to infer ground levels for several object types, but it tends to be either infer all entries from ground level or none, it would be good if only the non entered values were inferred. You might have survey data to a point and want to infer from ground level above this.

NOAA Atlas 14 Rainfall Designer
With NOAA Atlas 14 available in Texas and most of the United States - I would like to get a NOAA Atlas 14 rainfall designer in InfoWorks ICM. [The SCS Design rainfall is no longer applicable]

Straighten section tool
At the moment it is possible to have non straight survey sections brought in, which may result in incorrect cross section lengths, straightening these was possible in RS, it would be good to have the same in ICM.

Reduce validation time of models with river banks or inline banks
Current validation of models with bank lines takes a long long time for larger models, Up to several hours. My first guess is that checking a vertice bank level against the mesh level is the probelm. Same thing happens when you want to update ground levels from the mesh. This is also very very slow. It would help productivity speed if this could be reduced significantly
1 voteThank you for this request, improvements for validation times with inline banks were introduced with 2021.1.1 of InfoWorks ICM, this now takes significantly less time than it did before.

Allow simple time delay between subcatchment and manhole
After pruning my network, I want ICM to apply a simple time delay to flow from distant subcatchments to represent the travel time through smaller pipes before reaching the main transmission system.
4 votesWith the introduction of InfoWorks ICM 10.5 there is now an “Output lag (minutes)” field which should allow for exactly this, a fixed time offset on the outputs from a subcatchment.
