  1. Automatically add network details when copying a network from commit history

When a version of a network is copied via the commit history dialog box, the standard commit detail generated is "created from copy". Could this be extended by automatically inserting the original network name and version number ? It would help a lot in retracing the network history.

  4. Use edit flag for selection of fields only

By using the Use edit flag option, all changed fields are now set to the edit flag. For a lot of fields (for example the us and ds node or the suffix) it is not necessary to set this flag to the Edit flag.

  5. Simple means to set initial storage area water surface elevations

Please incorporate a system for setting initial water surface elevations in storage nodes that works as easily as the process is in XPSWMM or HEC-RAS. The program should hold this water level during warm-up stabilization.

  6. User defined results fields

Can we have user defined results fields? these would allow us to generate time series results that could include the total flows from a series of subcatchments or the total flow going to a node. another example is where we are required to generate a WQ 'score' where the score is a combination of a number of water quality parameters. There would be implications for live modelling as well. We'd be comfortable with having to write a SQL to get what we need.

Thanks for this idea, while it can already be done for themes, extending this out for results generation sounds good. The assumption is that a retrospectively applied SQL to populate User Text 1 with the desired result isn’t sufficient for this requirement?

  7. Select Assets with a given User Flag in any Properties Field

Allow assets to be selected/sorted (SQL or Grid View) based on a flag value in any properties field. This would make some model build and QA tasks much easier.

For example, data may be needed to properly model a serwerage pumping station but isn't available yet. An engineering judgement may be made with a user flag showing the data has been requested but that an engineering judgement has been made in the interim to allow model build to proceed. The ability to select/sort assets with this user flag in any property field would make user flags much more useful both…

  8. Sort by Validation Error in Grid View

Allow columns in grid views to be sorted by validation error(s). This would make fixing validation errors much easier.

For example, when modelled pipes/nodes are updated from the GIS, the Subcatchments sometimes lose their Node ID link as the node names may have changed. Being able to sort these validation issues to the top of the grid would make fixing the errors much easier. This would be particularly useful across multiple scenarios since the selection list created from the validation can't be saved with the "un-shown" objects from a different scenario.

  9. Modelling of Septicity

As a sewer modeller I have occasionally been asked about odour generation in sewer networks. I have noticed that DO (dissolved oxygen) and BOD (biochemical oxygen demand) are both inputs in the wastewater and trade-waste model groups of Infoworks ICM SE. Given that these are possible inputs in a sewer model, is it possible to model the consumption of DO by BOD within the network to determine where and when the sewage becomes anaerobic and prone to odour generation? This would be particularly useful if you wanted to model the addition of a high BOD low volume trade waste stream…

  12. ChatGPT in ICM

Hello Help Desk, this is just a general query, but will Autodesk-Infoworks be developing plug-ins for ChatGBT to allow Chat GBT to write custom SQL queries for Infoworks WSPro and ICM? Chat GBT can already write generic SQL queries, but it needs the database schema to be able to write specific SQLs. This seems like a great opportunity to assist users that are a little bit weak on SQL to get more out of Infoworks.

  13. Sediment depth variable for Storage nodes

It appears that amounts of sediment are carried along when water is overflowing over the banks of the river: part of the sediment from sediment fractions SF1 and SF2 leaves the river and goes to the Storage Areas during flooding. Although this is taken into account in the sediment balance, there is no variable being saved for the Storage Node in order to know how much sediment may accumulate in that storage area, nor can it be exported or visualized. Could you add the quality variable "sediment depth" present for the river sections also for the storage node (you don't…

  14. Save and reuse PDM state variables in order to avoid long warmup

Before starting a hydraulic run, it is currently necessary to simulate long runoff-only runs in order to warm up the state variables of a PDM subcatchment, particularly soil moisture deficit. Would it be possible to impose initial state variables in order to shorten the necessary warmup simulation or avoid it entirely?

  15. As a user i want to see 'failed' simulations within the Results Management Window rather than 'completed' status

When a sim completes as status Incomplete the sim icon changes to red and the Job control window states sim status Incomplete. However, in the Results Management window the sim status is ‘Complete’!

For consistency and user friendliness; Please can you fix to reflect the status Incomplete? This change will make re-running sims so much easier and save end users not having to delve into IDs to work out which sim need investigation.

  16. Inflow files with different timesteps or ability to import multiple inflow files to a Run file.

For inflow files, sometimes you have 15-min data for one gauge, and 5-min data for another location, and you want to import them both to the model. It would be helpful to be able to import inflow files with different timesteps for the same date range, so you don't have to manipulate data outside of ICM in excel. Or, allowing the ability to import multiple inflow files to the same run.

  17. ICM - HEC-22 Combination Inlet for continuous grade inlets

Currently ICM has 6 FWHA Gully Inlet types:
    ContCo Continuous Curb Opening
    ContG Continuous Grate
    SagC Sag Combination
    SagCO Sag Curb Opening
    SagG Sag Grate and
    UPC Grate

A commonly used Inlet type (particularly in QLD Australia) that is missing from this list is the combination (curb opening + grate) on a continuous grade.

Section 4.4.4.4. in the HEC-22 manual discuss the capacity of these inlets where the curb opening precedes the grate in the direction of flow. It would be particularly useful to include this option in ICM rather than assuming a grate only inlet type or having to…

  18. Highlight and delete multiple vertices when editing features (e.g. roughness zones)

In GIS software when editing features, there is often an option to select a number of vertices to delete/move them as a group. This would speed up time taken to edit features in the model like roughness zones that often need a lot of editing to be compatible with the mesh.

  19. ICM Template for printing muti-page Geoplan and Long Section views

I can already batch print geoplans and Long Sections by themselves. How to print them together? My current approach is to learn how to manipulate the output PDFs using PDF TK server, ghostscript, and potentially pdfjam, but some of these are new tools for me and I haven't yet made it work. Is there some way to do it using the Print Layout?

    Current work in progress:

    Batch printing geoplan
Save each spatial extents using Spatial Bookmarks
Set up print layout, then select batch print button from toolbar in the Print Layout
Geoplan showing each bookmark is saved on its…

  20. Revision to manhole representation

ICM's default representation of manholes could be more accurate. The limitations of current setup allows accurate representation of either the shaft or the benching but not both. Thus most people tend to apply chamber areas to invert which overestimates the volume prior to surcharge or the shaft to top of benching which overestimates the volume at the surface.

Because we can now define the benching in the database, it would be better if the default dimensions for manholes were altered to represent 4 critical levels, invert, top of benching, roof, and cover. With associated areas as channel, chamber and shaft.
