Option to pan through 2 or multiple geoplans at the same time
Sometimes (in ICM and IAM) in comparing 2 (or more) networks visually the networks are most of the time tiled horizontally of vertically. But when panning through one network, it would be very convenient that the other network(s) is/are also moving.
Suggestion: An option to visually connect different networks. One is the main and the other networks will be the connected and they will all get the same size. The connected networks will get the zoom factor and the extents of the main network. While panning through one of the networks (preferably the main network) the others will follow.3 votes -
Allocate a subcatchment’s flows among several nodes
This is an idea from CDM Smith == I have an engine feature idea that has occurred to me at various times but never acted on. Today I was discussing an InfoWorks model with a junior colleague. It would clearly help us in this model to be able to allocate a subcatchment’s flows among several nodes, whether identically or according to specified proportions. In this case, we’re filling out an existing model that previously had all 10” and larger pipes in town to now include all the 8” as well, tripling the size of the model. We’re basing new subcatchments…
1 voteThere is the ability to drain a subcatchment laterally to multiple links in InfoWorks ICM, would this be a close enough representation? When looking to split subcatchment flows across multiple nodes, this is usually achieved by splitting the subcatchments so there is one available for each node which is to be drained to.

Speed up interfaces with 2D zones with millions of elements (make it a multicore process)
The interface for large 1D-2D models is very slow. While moving through the geoplan every time it takes about ten seconds to load and show the location. We noticed that in this time only 1 of the 32 CPU is used for 100%. We tried 2 complete different videocards (Quadro K2000 vs Quadro M6000 24GB) but that did not make any difference (both slow). The interface/geoplan works fine when we do not display the 2D zone. We tried lot of things that were suggested by your supportdesk, but it seems like that this is something that will only really improve…

RTC rule themes
It would be great if it was possible to theme in the GeoPlan on the basis of the rules which are active for a given object at the visible timestep.

ICM sims updated with better control on sims outcome
I think waiting a big time for a sim to be done and then because the sim results disk gets full, loosing all of the simulated data is something that should be prevented from the time someone sends the simulation. A warning should be issued when you send the sim, looking at the remaining free disk size, Also maybe showing a estimation of how much space you will need.

Add node level (hydraulic grade line) data to custom graphs for calibration
Allow for the ability to compare observed and predicted level data (or hydraulic grade lines) at nodes. Instead of depth in the pipe, I typically have water surface elevations at a node, specifically for treatment plant hydraulic modeling.

Increased number of user pollutants
We would like to be able to trace pollutant sources through our 2D model. The way to do this would be to use the user defined pollutants . But... at the moment there are only four pollutants and potentially we'd have many different sources that we'd like to track. Can the number of user pollutants be increased? We can't give a number that this would need to be increased but it could be several hundred.
5 votesThanks for this, I assume that as long as the end goal of being able to trace a significant number of sources through the 2D is met this would be sufficient? As in it is not actually pollutants you wish to be able to trace but rather the source of flows?

Triangles browser
Small triangles can slow down 2D simulations significantly. Currently, after creating a 2D mesh, I export the 2D mesh to a GIS software to check how many triangles I have below certain size and where they are. This helps me address the problem of small triangles efficiently. it would be helpful to have a similar functionality in ICM (i.e. triangles browser).

Add support to the GIS Layer Control to access the new OS Open Data API's WMTS
Enhance/Add support to the GIS Layer Control to access the new OS Open Data API's WMTS. It appears at the minute you can only add WMS layers.

Apply rain gauge boundaries to multiple rainfall events
I would like to load rain gauge boundaries to multiple rainfall events at once. I have had to import rainfall profiles from .csv files and I have lots of durations and return periods. Saving the rain gauge boundaries to each file is time consuming. Having a batch tool where the appropriate rainfall events are loaded at the same time would speed up this process in the future.
5 votesThanks for this request, for application to 1D networks the profile for subcatchments could be used but if the rainfall needs to be applied to a 2D zone as well where spatial distribution is required then in that instance this wouldn’t work I guess so I see the need here.

Application of design storms in ICMLive
We'd like to be able to predefine some design storms in ICMLive (note that this is NOT the same as design rainfall in ICM). The idea is that we'd have these storms that could be optionally applied by operators to see the likely effect of a rainfall event. Essentially we are looking for the same functionality that existed in FloodWorks.

Support for Hong Kong Observatory Rainfall Data
The Hong Kong Observatory is the authority responsible for producing observed and forecast rainfall data for the territory. Their data is produced in a format not currently supported in ICMLive so we have to convert it into shape files to be used. Direct reading of this data would enable both more efficient data loading processes as well as reducing the potential for errors.

As a user, I would like to be able to import polygon with holes in it (donut) as subcatchments,
So that I can model situation part of the drainage area is not draining to the storm sewer system.
1 voteHave you attempted to do the import using the “Import as multi-part polygons” option on the Open Data Import Centre?

Option to disable flag colour backgrounds for Custom Labels
When creating a custom label and using field values, the values have a background in the colour of the flag value. In many cases, the flag value is not a suitable colour to be a background and makes the text difficult to read.
Could you make an option in the Formatting settings for custom labels to disable this behaviour so that the flag colour is not displayed.17 votes -
Structure flow mode reported in the results
Sometimes when evaluating results at structures we see strange results that require investigation; invariably we find out that this is because the flow mode has changed. (e.g. from free to drowned). It would be very helpful if the ICM results were able to report the flow mode as a time-varying output. This would result in a lot of time saving when investigating models. For reference I am referring to the Flow Mode functionality that is available in InfoWorks RS and Flood Modeller Pro.

Use Machine Learning to estimate subcatchment inflows to network
Allow users to skip parameterized subcatchment hydrology estimates which may become outdated over time and replace it with machine learning on measured data from TSDB.
Flow meter could train algorithm which learns to predict flows based on rainfall. This flow is then allocated to upstream contributing subcatchments.
As TSDB grows, flow forecasts potentially improve.2 votes -

Circular sluices/penstocks would also be useful
Similar to the rectangular flap valve request, circular sluices would avoid workarounds trying to estimate the rectangular equivalent to a half closed circular penstock (or worse still a half closed egg shaped penstock)

Use ruby to edit rainfall dialogue box
Exporting rainfall files to csv for manipulation creates details of the storm events themselves, we would like to be able to change the return periods, durations, multiplying factors shown in the rainfall dialogue editor instead.
